With the 8th anniversary of Grenfell approaching, we reflect on how far we have come in making high-rise residential buildings safer. Although the government has introduced a series of regulatory reforms, questions remain around both their implementation and effectiveness.
Join us at our next ACN Breakfast event as we examine the evolving guidance, legislative response and implications for designers and developers working in high-rise residential construction. Our speakers, Bruce Renwick (Principal Fire Protection Engineer at Cundall) and Shami Smith-Sandhu (Director at Semper), will draw on their knowledge and experience across projects in the UK and overseas to discuss key fire safety considerations, including:
• The government’s findings following Grenfell
• New regulations brought in and those still pending
• Implications for designers delivering high-rise housing
• Whether current changes are sufficient to prevent future tragedies
