ECN One Day Conference - 20 November 2019

RICS, Great George Street, London

Event Info

A forthcoming publication, "Planning Learning Spaces" explores if school design helps us to realise a new vision for education that equips young people for life in a fast changing world. Drawing on expertise from across the globe, it is a detailed ‘how to’ manual for designers, architects and school leaders embarking on a new project.

Our Rethinking Education Design Conference brings together some of the authors and contributors, over eight thought provoking sessions to demonstrate the importance of understanding the intended teaching and learning approach of students and staff and the value of engagement and dialogue before thinking about the physical design of their schools and the spaces for learning.

#RethinkingEducationDesign

“I have been attending ACN conference since its inception.

The ACN has provided some great networking opportunities, resulting in new professional relationships and commissions.

But it has also been a great forum for discussing current challenges and opportunities facing designers and constructors of across all three sectors.”

Sarah Curl, Director, Curl la Tourelle Head Architecture

Speakers

We are delighted to announce the Alliance for Inclusive Education (ALLFIE) as our Charity Partner for the conference. ALLFIE believes that inclusive education is the basis of lifelong equality. Children who learn and play together will grow into adults who can understand and respect each other’s differences. A representative from ALLFIE will be taking part in our final panel discussion on "designing inclusive learning environments".
