HCN About

About Us

Over £166 billion reasons to join the HCN

When the NHS was launched in 1948, it had a budget of £437 million (roughly £15 billion at today’s value). For 2015/16, the overall NHS budget was around £116.4 billion. NHS England is managing £101.3 billion of this.  On top of this the private healthcare sector generates over £6 billion mainly through operations and treatments and this excludes the amount spent on mental health and primary care.

The range of healthcare facilities required in the UK is continually growing and as technology improves, research, treatment and rehabilitation advances and the life expectancy of our nation increases, providing new accommodation and refurbishing our existing estate is of paramount importance to our nation’s wellbeing.

How though do we get to find out about these projects?

Who do we need to speak to?

What do we have to do to get ourselves considered?

The Healthcare Construction Network  is a multidiscipline networking organisation where our members can interact with peers who are working in their relevant sector.

We provide a forum where information about forthcoming bid and tender opportunities can be shared in an open and informal environment at an affordable level, is accessible to all and does not significantly impact on the working day.

Attendees at our events include a wide range of disciplines from Clients, Architects, Engineers and Contractors to FFE Consultants and Suppliers.

All share a passion for education and a desire to seek new opportunities within this sector. With our sister organisations, the Residential Construction Network and Education Construction Network, we have a growing membership of over 100 companies registered.

If you are not part of the discussion then there is a chance that potential opportunities will be given to those who are part of the conversation.

Knowledge Sharing

As a knowledge sharing organisations guest speakers discuss latest topics around our sector has impact upon us.

We have a full programme of events listed for 2016/2017 covering a range of topics across the spectrum of the healthcare sector.

Our breakfast events can count for one hour of CPD.
